Bye-bye Crazy November

at December 2nd, 2011 by | permalinkpermalink | category Posted in Bohemian Rhapsody

Oh hi!!! Hey Hellooww!

Uh ohhh… yeah it’s been awhile, isn’t it? Why? Where have I been? Mmm let’s see…

November was an extremely busy month at work. It was not just busy, it was crazily chaotic to the bones. First, our President visited my office headquarters, a few days later at the Organization (where I hang my hat everyday) general conference, an election was held and approved a first-kind-thing decision which made it as headlines in national and international media, then the scrambling to face the financial impact, and towards the end of the month.. my Big Boss numero Uno came to Indonesia as a state guest. All in all… It was CRAZY. Pheeewwww….   Gosh, I was exhausted beyond imagination. Thank goodness, soon after the Big Boss left on the last Friday of November, I started my maternity leave on the very next Monday.

On the first day of my leave, I still had to come to the office to do my handover note, had a meeting with my regional Boss, sent out a few emails before I bid Adios, see you in April. I refused to make plans for the following days. I just wanted to enjoy the freedom to make impulsive decision.

The next day, Raissa and I had girls only day. We went to a spa and pampered ourselves with 1-hour full body massage, then she had a haircut, and I continued to treat myself with a creambath. I thank God that we live in this country where pampering is a luxury I can afford :)

And that’s how I entered December… Slowly but blissfully.

Birdnest Chaos: Kids Room

at October 27th, 2011 by | permalinkpermalink | category Posted in Home Affairs, home sweet trailer

Honestly, the kids really didn’t get the best room on the floorplan package from our developer. The size of the room was very small and it had no window at all. It looked more like a warehouse, only even warehouse would be better. Imagine the kids being put in a box like a cricket used to be kept in matchbox. The room indeed looked more like a matchbox.

I really had to think hard to make it as humanly as possible so I asked the architect to design a window looking into the living room and I told my general contractor that no matter what the room has to have its own aircon (usually in other apartments in our complex, the aircon would be placed in living room and master bedroom. And 2 aircons is a max). I have my wishes came true with compromises of course.

Putting the window in the room was not a real problem, we just have to mind when we want to open it fully extended as it might bump into the door. The bigger problem was installing the aircon as it conflicted with water sprinkler (so we had to get the sprinkler slightly moved and extended and of course paid quite an amount to the building management), created a hole on the master/kids bedroom wall for the aircon pipe to get through from the kids room through the master bedroom and another hole on the wall to make it end up in the bathroom. The pipe route is almost as long as the silk road :) but I’m happy with the end-result and Raissa seems to enjoy her room so much too. Let’s hop into my jumping bean’s room…

Bedframe+bed included (Informa), flower lamp (IKEA), and mural by a talented cousin

Sssh.. supermodel is sleeping on Rue Raissa :D The sign board below it is reserved for her sibling.

A "revised" clothing cabinet. It's supposed to have white-with-lightblue-tint sandblast doors, but the contractor brought in a deep blue instead. It wasn't very bad actually, but since I was too upset, I asked him to cover it with a white sticker (which I can peel off if I want to reveal the blue paint later).

My idea with the windows is for Raissa to feel as if she has a neigbor across "the street" :D so I asked the mirror in the living room to be framed as if it's another set of windows.

What’s left to get for this room is a study desk, which will go behind the door under the book shelves. And, I have to start thinking on what/how to change the layout in a few years to accommodate 2 jumping beans. Hopefully by then, we will have a new home on land. Aaamiinnn..
