Last Saturday I participated in a Bento-Making Class organized by The Urban Mama (TUM) and Sekar Magazine at Tupperware Home. I love taking part in TUM events. Each had been very fun, useful and ooh so affordable with lotsa goodies. Yeay! So far I’ve participated in Food Photography class and the last one, Bento-Making.
The instructors in Bento class were Lia Chen and Truly Syarif.
There were two sessions: the first was bento with rice as the main ingredient (plus fried chicken, corn fritters, sauteed vegetables, kumquats, cherry tomatoes, nori seaweed, and lettuce), and the second session was using bread as the main feature (plus crackers, duck-shaped marshmallows, strawberries, hershey chocolates, carrots, slice cheese, and lettuce). There were a lot of joking around and the ladies on my table were particularly fun! Unfortunately, no bento from our table was identified as one of the best. No surprise too because we laughed a lot and were so noisy!
Dieta even spilled her done bento before we could take pictures. Boo-hooo.. after all that hard work, poor her.
I left the class with smiles, especially after knowing that I could take home FREE my first two bentos in 2 lunch boxes from Tupperware, three magazines, an apron, and a voucher from Mom&Jo Spa. Teeheee!
